Today, I’d love to introduce one of my favorite supermarkets — Lopia Sendai!
Whether you’ve been there or not, it’s totally worth checking out.
🛒 What is Lopia?
Lopia is like the Japanese version of Costco!
It’s located at Yodobashi Camera near Sendai Station East Exit.
Walk down the passage and you’ll pass a drugstore and a 100-yen shop — then you’ll see Lopia!
This supermarket chain is mainly found in the Tokyo area, and the Sendai Yodobashi store is the only one in Miyagi Prefecture.
As a mom of five, I shop there once a week!
🧡 What Makes Lopia Great?
Lopia is known for its big portions and cheap prices, especially for pizza, deli food, seafood, and meat.
Here are some of my favorite things:
🍕 1. Affordable Pizza
Pizza in Japan is usually expensive, but not at Lopia!
You can get a great deal, especially the 3-pizza set.
Just be aware — the types and prices of pizza can change between day and night!
🥩 2. Huge Meat Selection
Lopia is strong in fresh meat.
They have chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and even rare cuts like pork bones and liver that are hard to find in regular supermarkets.
❄️ 3. Cheap Frozen Foods
Frozen food in Japan is tasty and varied.
At Lopia, it’s not only delicious but also super affordable. Definitely try some!
🥛 4. Budget-Friendly Dairy
Yogurt, cheese, and milk are cheaper compared to other stores.
I always buy my dairy items at Lopia!
🧂 5. Wide Variety of Seasonings
They offer sauces and spices from all over Japan, plus seasonings for international dishes too.
My recommendation: the Taco Kit!

• 💸 Cash only – Lopia doesn’t accept credit cards or digital payments.
• 🧍♀️ After the cashier scans your items, you’ll pay with cash at a self-checkout machine.
📱 Download the Lopia app to check the flyers and get updates on special deals.
• Not good with Japanese? Just take a screenshot and use ChatGPT to translate it!
• 🗓️ Special discounts happen on the 22nd of each month, and there are daily deals depending on the day of the week — don’t miss them!
